Travel by Design
Your travel inspiration. Our expertise.A journey designed for you.
Sometimes you want every detail taken care of. Sometimes you may love researching and booking parts of a trip yourself. Maison V works with both.
We begin with a conversation about how you travel: the places you love, your previous experiences, accommodation preferences, pace, interests, budget and the practicalities that matter.
We also consider your existing travel portfolio, hotel status, points, memberships and other relevant benefits, so that recommendations take account of what you already have.
Hotels, independent properties, traditional ryokan and private residences, selected for the journey rather than a single brand preference.
Routing, transfers, regional transport and other logistics that help the itinerary flow.
Food, wine, sake, art, architecture, craftsmanship and cultural encounters, including, where it fits the journey, a Maison V Provenance Session: a place-specific experience curated to bring the region to life.
A considered look at booking options, eligible benefits and where points or status may be useful.
A coherent plan that balances interests, timing, comfort and flexibility.
Where will I need cash? What’s the best mobile data plan strategy? What do I need to rent a car? What are the cultural norms I should be aware of? And more.
A Maison V signature
A deeper connection to place.
Some experiences bring a destination into focus in a way that stays with you long after you return home. A remarkable bottle shared at its source. A meal shaped by the landscape and the season. A conversation with a winemaker, sake producer or craftsperson whose work is inseparable from the place they call home.
Maison V Provenance Sessions are designed around these moments.
Each session creatively celebrates a region through exceptional bottles, expressive cuisine and enriching exchanges, set amongst the defining places and landscapes that give it character.
Depending on the destination and your interests, a session might take the form of a special dinner, a wine or sake experience, a hands-on workshop, a visit with a local producer or an encounter with a traditional craft. In Japan, it might explore the world of sake and the people who shape it. In France, it could bring together a distinctive bottle, regional cuisine and the story of the landscape behind them.
For a bespoke journey, each session is considered in the context of the wider itinerary and the traveller’s own interests. The intention is not simply to add another activity, but to create a more meaningful connection with the place.
Every Provenance Session is shaped by its setting. Experiences are incorporated where the right people, place and opportunity come together, rather than applied as a standard formula.
For us, skiing is one of the great pleasures of travelling. As avid skiers, we understand the appeal of exceptional terrain, fresh mountain air and full days on the slopes, but also everything that makes a ski holiday memorable beyond the skiing itself.
Maison V designs ski holidays around the complete experience. That means matching the resort and terrain to your group, finding the right place to stay and considering the details that shape each day: mountain restaurants worth lingering over, après-ski with the right atmosphere, exceptional dinners, thoughtful wine or sake selections and the pleasures of a well-chosen alpine setting.
In the French Alps, we can bring together varied terrain, mountain lunches, regional food and wine, après-ski and the character of a particular resort. In Japan, we can plan journeys around iconic destinations such as Niseko and Hakuba, as well as smaller resorts where skiing can be combined with hot springs, ryokan experiences, regional cuisine and sake in the snow.
Whether you are planning a trip with friends, a family ski holiday or a more food- and wine-led escape, we bring the elements together around your preferences, experience and pace. The result is a ski holiday that feels considered from first lift to last drink, or, in Japan, from first tracks to the warmth of an onsen.
The model
You may want us to design the entire journey, or simply help with the parts where our knowledge and relationships make the greatest difference. We consider your preferences, existing travel benefits, points and status, then agree the right division of responsibilities to fit your travel and experiential preferences.
Destination and itinerary design; accommodation recommendations; eligible preferred hotel bookings; logistics planning; food and cultural experiences; coordination of agreed trip components.
Elements you enjoy managing, bookings where your own points or benefits make better sense, and arrangements you prefer to retain or where the customer experience is more seamless in your hands.
We agree who handles each component, what the planning fee includes, which arrangements Maison V can book, and where the best overall value and experience lie.
Travel design fees
Fees reflect planning effort and agreed scope, not simply trip length. We confirm the proposed fee and deliverables before beginning. Travel purchases are separate.
For straightforward, relatively focused trips: where the main decisions are accommodation, timing and a small number of experiences.
For more involved itineraries, multiple stops or a wider range of experiences.
For intricate routing, extended journeys, multi-region travel or more substantial coordination.
