Maison V Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 13 July 2026
Last Updated: 13 July 2026

Maison V Group LLC ("Maison V", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website maisonv.com (the "Site") and provides curated wine, sake, and travel experiences, events, and bespoke consulting services (together with the Site, the "Services").

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices available to you. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), and other applicable privacy laws.

If you have any questions, or wish to exercise any of your rights, contact us at maison@maisonv.com.

1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

For the purposes of the GDPR, the data controller of your personal information is:

Maison V Group LLC
Email: maison@maisonv.com

Because our experiences take place in destinations including France and Japan, and our community includes members and prospective members in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and the United States, we apply the protections described in this Policy to all users, regardless of location, while honoring the specific legal rights of your jurisdiction.

2. Personal Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

  • Contact information — name, email address, phone number, and your inquiry when you register your interest in our services, join our mailing list, or contact us.
  • Booking and experience information — when you enquire about or book a Travel Collection experience, Provenance Session, event, or consulting engagement, we may collect travel dates, party size, dietary requirements and allergies, accessibility needs, passport or identity details where required by travel providers, and emergency contact details.
  • Payment information — payment card or bank details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Preferences and correspondence — your wine, sake, food, and travel preferences, and the content of your communications with us.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type and identifiers, pages viewed, referring pages, and dates and times of visits
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 6 below.

Information from third parties

  • Confirmation and operational details from travel, hospitality, and tasting partners involved in delivering your experience, limited to what is necessary to provide the Services. We do not knowingly collect more information than we need for the purposes described below (data minimization).

3. Why We Use Your Information and Our Legal Bases

We only use your personal information where we have a valid legal basis to do so. These are the purposes for which we process your information, with the corresponding legal basis under the GDPR:

Providing the Services
Responding to enquiries, arranging and delivering experiences, and managing bookings and membership.
Legal basis: performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.

Payments (via Third Party platforms such as Fora)
Processing payments and preventing fraud.
Legal basis: performance of a contract; legitimate interests (fraud prevention).

Communications you request
Newsletters, inquiries and booking confirmations.
Legal basis: performance of a contract; consent.

Marketing
Newsletters, event invitations, and new experience announcements.
Legal basis: consent — you may withdraw it at any time.

Improving the Site and Services
Analytics, understanding visitor interests, and developing new offerings.
Legal basis: consent (for non-essential cookies); legitimate interests (aggregate analysis).

Safety and legal compliance
Verifying legal drinking age; complying with travel, alcohol, tax, and accounting laws; responding to lawful requests.
Legal basis: legal obligation; legitimate interests.

Protecting our rights
Enforcing our Terms and Conditions, and establishing or defending legal claims.
Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those interests against your rights and freedoms. You may object to such processing at any time (see Section 9).

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own promotional purposes.

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers (processors) — hosting, customer database and CRM, data storage and processing, email delivery, analytics, payment processing, and fraud monitoring providers, each bound by contracts requiring them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.
  • Experience partners — vineyards, breweries, sommeliers, hotels, restaurants, transport providers, and guides, but only the details they need to deliver the experience you have booked (for example, name, party size, dietary requirements).
  • Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants, and insurers where necessary.
  • Authorities — where required by law, regulation, court order, or legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers — if Maison V is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

We may share aggregated, non-identifiable information (for example, trends in visitor interest) with partners to improve our offerings.

5. International Data Transfers

Maison V is based in the United States, and our experiences and partners are located in destinations including France and Japan. Your information may therefore be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own.

Where we transfer personal information from the EEA or the United Kingdom to countries that have not received an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable), together with supplementary measures where needed. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards by contacting maison@maisonv.com.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Strictly necessary — make the Site work (e.g., security, page navigation). These do not require consent.
  • Analytics and performance — understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
  • Functionality and preferences — remember your settings and choices.

For visitors from the EEA and the UK, non-essential cookies are set only after you give consent through our cookie banner. You may accept all, reject all, or manage categories individually, and you may change your choices at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link on the Site.

You can also configure your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being set; some parts of the Site may not function properly if you do. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), as an opt-out of any applicable sharing under California law.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:

  • Marketing contacts — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, or after a prolonged period of inactivity, whichever comes first.
  • Booking and transaction records — for the duration of your experience and thereafter as required by tax, accounting, and legal obligations (typically up to 6 years).
  • Device and analytics data — for shorter periods appropriate to the analytics purpose.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly anonymize it. You may request deletion at any time by emailing maison@maisonv.com (see Section 9).

8. How We Protect Your Information

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where required by law (including within 72 hours to supervisory authorities where the GDPR so requires).

9. Your Privacy Rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Erase your information ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
  • Data portability — receive your information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for example, the CNIL in France or the ICO in the UK).

We will respond within one month, extendable by two further months for complex requests (we will tell you if we need more time).

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
  • Access your personal information;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Delete your personal information;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — Maison V does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA;
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information — we use sensitive information (such as dietary or accessibility details) only to deliver the Services you request;
  • Non-discrimination — we will never deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your rights.

We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days (extendable by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary). You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.

How to exercise your rights

Email maison@maisonv.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it; we will only ask for the information necessary to do so.

10. Marketing Communications

We send marketing emails (membership updates, experience announcements, event invitations) only where permitted by law — based on your consent or, where applicable, your existing relationship with us. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may also opt out at any time by emailing maison@maisonv.com. Opting out of marketing does not affect service communications such as booking confirmations.

11. Age Restrictions

Our Services involve wine and sake experiences and are intended for adults of legal drinking age — 21 or older in the United States, and the applicable legal drinking age in your jurisdiction (for example, 18 in France and 20 in Japan). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under these ages or, in any event, from anyone under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact maison@maisonv.com and we will delete it promptly.

12. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, partners or booking platforms). This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on the Site, revise the "Last Updated" date, and, where required by law, notify you or seek your renewed consent. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
